Support the Future of Education in Papua New Guinea

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.”

– Galatians 6:9–10

Chanel Catholic College of Secondary Teacher Education, located in Kokopo, East New Britain, is a growing teacher training college dedicated to preparing the next generation of science educators for Papua New Guinea.

Our vision is to nurture community-minded, culturally grounded, and academically capable teachers who will shape the future of science education across the nation.

Rooted in Christian values  our students are trained not only to teach but to lead with compassion, resilience, and respect for the communities they serve.

As PNG faces increasing challenges in areas such as health, climate resilience, digital technology, and economic sustainability, the need for high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education has never been more urgent. At Chanel, we are expanding our curriculum and resources to strengthen STEM teaching and learning—ensuring our graduates are equipped to inspire future generations in these vital fields.

But we can’t do it alone.

Your support will help us:

  • Develop new science labs and ICT classrooms
  • Create a dedicated Maker space that incorporates a new library.
  • Provide STEM teaching resources and training
  • Expand student research and community-based science projects
  • Support rural and underrepresented student-teachers through scholarships
  • Build a future-focused, sustainable learning environment

Every kina, dollar, or prayer makes a difference.

Help us grow Chanel into a centre of excellence for teacher education and STEM development in PNG.

Together, we can plant the seeds of knowledge that will grow across generations.
